Vocaloid - Simple Tutorial Part 1

i was wondering, should i write a tutorial about Vocaloid, while i just start learn it

ah, well, since i believe some of you even don't know what the hell Vocaloid is, and some other just know it from my post before at least i can provide you with an interesting information

well, before we start our tutorial, first of all you must get the most important tool, the Vocaloid itself
you can get a free demo version from here
well, i don't know what demo version lack of, but i'm sure you can use it, at least for educational purpose
now, lets start the tutorial

First of all, lets see how a Vocaloid looks like

You should recognized, some part of the interface somehow resemble a piano tuts

well, in fact, it is a piano tuts, every row resemble a chord key
Next, how to make our vocaloid says something, i use Miku as my singer, means the sentence i make will voiced by miku well, Vocaloid has a lot of singers, or you could say, voice database type, it's just i only have Miku one, so bear it okay
okay get back to bussiness, lets create some simple sentences 'DoReMiFaSoLaSiDo'
choose pencil icon in top of Vocaloid screen

then, click and drag your cursor, in one of the row (remember each row resemble a chord key)
since it has 8 Syllables, you'll also need 8 row

double klik in the green line, and type a letter, remember, Miku is japanese, so you should type a japanese letter
too hard? well, don't worry, even you should type japanese letter, you can type it romaji way, means you just type what the letter sounds like for example :
  • あ --> sounds 'a' --> you type 'a'
  • そ --> sounds 'so' --> you type 'so'
  • ご --> sounds 'go' --> you type 'go'
as for 'Do-Re-Mi-Fa-So-La-Si-Do' , just type it normally, except for 'La' you should type it 'Ra' instead cause Japanese doesn't have syllable for L

oh, and don't ever forget the most basic rule of singing, put the syllables in right order in their respective chord

Now, try to play it, click in play button at top of Vocaloid screen

Pheew, now that should do it i didn't expect it will take so long just to cover a basic tutorial
okay, you know the basic, feel free to experiment around see ya
